  EVANESCENE: "Fallen"

Es dudelt momentan auf und ab bei MTVIVA. EVANESCENE´s "Bring me to life". Ein NuMetal angehauchtes leicht gothicmäßiges Tragikliedchen.

Wie so viele, nahm ich an, ohne je von der Band gehört zu haben, dass der Herr im Video der Frontmann ist und nur für den Song eine Co-Sängerin engagiert wurde. Aber weit gefehlt, da genau anders herum. Das macht schon mal neugierig. Per Import an das Album gelangt und reingehört, wird schließlich wieder hübsche HüpfHüpf-Mucke sein.

UFF! Ist das dieselbe Band??
Keine donnernden Gitarrenläufe, kein JUMPJUMP Gekreische, keine Psychoabdrehsongs über die ach so schlimme Jugend. Nein.
"Bring me to life" ist wohl schlichtweg als Single gedacht gewesen, denn selten passt ein Song so schlecht ins Gesamtkonzept.

Und da überraschen EVANESCENE auf ganzer Linie.
Natürlich sticht zuerst die famose Stimme von Sängerin Amy Lee ins Ohr (und Ihr wirklich famoses Aussehen ins Auge…). Sie könnte glatt als Sangesschwester von Frau Scabbia von den Lacunas durchgehen. Tendiert allerdings ein Stück mehr in die Operettenecke. So haben sich EVANESCENE eine kleine eigene Nische geschaffen. Viel Gefühl, viel Synthie, gepaart mit eingängigem, ehrlichem harten NuRock. Dabei nie laut oder aufdringlich.

"Fallen" ist ein eher leises Album, voller Tragik und Dramatik.
Selbst eisenharte Goths ohne Scheuklappen dürfen hier zugreifen!
