'This Song' was the first single to be released from George's 1976 album Thirty Three & 1/3, and it peaked at No.25 in the US singles charts. It was written as a response to a recent court case where George had been sued over the supposed similarity of his song 'My Sweet Lord' to The Chiffon's hit 'She's So Fine', where George had been forced to sit and listen to incredibly detailed break downs of both songs to the point that he "started to believe that maybe they did own those notes".
