Spice River - Emergency On Planet Rock'N'Roll (2018)

Members: FLA, Tobias Maucy, Armin Felber, Pierre Hardy, Alexander Fallegger Genre: New Vintage Rock City: Luzern (Swiss) Spice River is without doubt the most exciting act to revive the 70’s Rock/Hardrock era that Switzerland has produced in the previous years. The explosive mix of uncomplicated, gripping guitars and keyboards, the thundering drive of the rythm section and the blues vocals certainly have that 70’s Rock heart. Although the influences of great bands such as Grand Funk Railroad, Led Zeppelin amongst others are heard, Spice River plays an original and self-made style of Rock which is seldom heard these days. At composition time, there is no focus on the charts and quite opposingly, 2 1/2 or 3 minute songs will not be found in the set list. The energy-driven live shows are convincingly non-artificial. Their concerts are the re-living of Rock’n Roll in their own special way. Those that have been to the show will be witness and will be rocked again whenever Spice River is in town. Although Spice River was first formed in 2015 by FLA, Armin Felber and Toby Maucy, some of their musicians are already known in the Swiss scene for many years from bands like Earthquake, Red Alert, Adam and Electric Love Pack to name a few. In search of a formidable Bass player, the man of the scene, Alex Falleger, was found and taken with open arms. The vacant position of lead guitar was filled to the brim by the younger french guitarist, Pierre Hardy, whose own style gave the songs exactly that right touch. In the meantime, the band is perfectly harmonized. The fans of the shows are the underlining evidence.
