Хрупкая блондинка с ангельской внешностью, Петра Марклунд (Petra Marklund) на самом деле девушка решительная. Ей было всего 12 лет, когда она впервые пришла в студию звукозаписи.
В 17 - она уже пела в рок-группе. А, закончив школу, в отличие от своих сверстников, которые мечтали устроиться на работу в Макдоналдс, Петра заключила контракт с крупной шведской звукозаписывающей компанией.
Белокурые кудри достались Петре от мамы, которая родом из Словении. Девушке всегда нравилась лёгкая танцевальная музыка: Кайли Миноуг (Kylie Minogue), некоторые песни Бритни Спирc (Britney Spears).
И вот, в 18 лет, взяв псевдоним Септембер (September, т. е. сентябрь – месяц ее рождения), певица составила своим кумирам достойную конкуренцию, выпустив один за другим хиты "La la la"(Never give it up), "We can do it", "September all over". Авторами и продюсерами композиций выступило динамичное трио в составе Джонаса фон дер Бурга (Jonas von der Burg), Никласа фон дер Бурга (Niclas von der Burg) и Аноо Бхагаван (Anoo Bhagavan). Необыкновенно сильный голос этой миниатюрной шведской певицы и энергичное звучание песен Септембер приятно удивили критиков и сыскали почитателей по всей Европе.
Но, несмотря на успешность первых синглов, в творчестве Петры последовал довольно долгий перерыв. Певица Септембер вернулась к работе лишь спустя два года.
И с этого момента в ее музыкальной карьере начался новый этап. At seventeen, she was singing in a rock band and when she graduated from Swedish high school, at a time when most teenagers worry about what to wear to their interviews for a job at McDonalds, Petra had already nailed a record deal. A big one. Calling herself September, the then 18-year old had hits like "La la la (Never give it up)", "We can do it" and "September all over". The songs were written and produced by dynamic hit making trio Jonas von der Burg, Niclas von der Burg and Anoo Bhagavan, and with Petra, they made a great team where Petra found exactly the kind of high-quality dance music she was looking for to make. While danceable and catchy, the songs always have its base in Petra's dark, surprisingly sad voice that lingers in your ears, making them stick out from the hit parades on the radio." [1]
Career
In 2003, at the age of 18, she had her first hit in Sweden with "La La La (Never Give It Up)", which reached number 8 in her homeland of Sweden. The single was followed by "We Can Do It", which became her second top 10 hit. As result of these two singles, her debut album was recorded and released in February 2004, along with the third single off the album, "September All Over", which reached the number 8 position too. It then stayed quite around September, until she broke the silence around her by releasing "Satellites", first single from the second album In Orbit, which became her biggest hit to date. The song currently stands at number 139 in the Swedish Alltime Bestperforming Singles Chart.[2] Other singles that followed from the same album included "Looking for Love", "Flowers on the Grave" "It Doesn't Matter" and "Cry for You".
In America, September released her biggest hit to date "Satellites" in late 2006 where it had moderate success, reaching the number 8 position on the Hot Dance Airplay chart. "Cry for You" was released to US radio stations on the 5th of June and had peaked at number 1 on the Hot Dance Airplay where it stayed for a total of 3 weeks.[3]
On the 1st September, September competed in Sopot Festival 2007 in Poland, representing Sweden, and her rivals will be music stars like: Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Thierry Amiel, The Cloud Room and Monrose. She was 3rd in Viewers Choice (Silver Place).
September released a new single entitled "Can't Get Over" on the 20th June 2007 in Sweden. The single was followed by the release of Petra's third album in September called "Dancing Shoes". The album reached 12 on the Swedish album chart. Her highest peak to date, though it only remained on the charts for 4 weeks while her previous two charts remained on the charts for 6 weeks. The second single released from the album is "Until I Die" the song is already rocketing up iTunes where it has already reached top 10 there. "Until I Die" entered the Swedish Charts at number 5 on the week of November 15, but has since fallen to 52 in its second week on the charts. However, "Until I Die" climbed up to 37 on its third week on the charts.
Septembers first single from "Dancing Shoes", "Can't Get Over" was released on the American iTunes the week of 27 November 2007. It has already become on of her most downloaded songs there.
In Poland September's second album "In Orbit" was released including new remixes and a dvd with music videos from the album. The album was well received there and peaked at 10 for 2 weeks and has currently gone gold; selling over 10,000 copies. The album is expected to be released in Spain where Petra was had 4 top 10 songs.

Вряд ли многие знают Петру Марклунд по имени. Зато она хорошо известна, в том числе и в наших краях, как вокалистка шведского проекта September, который, появившись с дебютным синглом в 2003 году, смог отметиться в хит-параде страны пятью синглами. Самыми известными из них у нас являются "La La La", "September All Over" и "Satellites". Совсем недавно появилось свежее творение September, которое называется "In Orbit". Одним из авторов музыки и текста новой пластинки выступил Jonas Von Der Burg, известный по предыдущему синглу September, а также по работе с такими популярными шведскими исполнителями, как Ace Of Base, Alcazar, E-Type, Meja и другие. Песни оптимистичные и жизнерадостные, быстро поднимают настроение.
