Кто знает, Westlife в действительности завершают свою карьеру и расходятся? Хотелось бы чтобы коллектив существовал, даже  и без Брайна Макфеддена. Будет ли концерт в России?

Ирландская поп-группа Westlife объявила
о своём "дружественном распаде", запланированном на следующий год. К
Рождеству они выпустят сборник своих лучших хитов, после чего отправятся
в прощальные гастроли - и разойдутся.



Westlife является типичным бойзбэндом конца 1990-х, правда, бойзбэндом
весьма и весьма успешным. Их продюсером и менеджером изначально были
небезызвестный Саймон Коуэлл (Simon Cowell) и Луи Уолш (Louis Walsh),
под чутким руководством которых Westlife умудрились выдать сразу семь
подряд синглов, занявших первые места в британских хит-парадах. Тем
самым они поставили рекорд.



В общей сложности они выпустили 14 синглов, занявших первые строчки
хит-парадов; 11 альбомов, поднимавшихся выше пятой позиции в чартах
(семь из них занимали высшие точки) и в общей сложности продали 44 млн
копий своих альбомов по всему миру.



Мы приняли это решение полюбовно: проведя вместе всю нашу взрослую жизнь
мы хотим получить заслуженный отпуск и заняться новыми начинаниями. Мы
видим этот сборник лучших песен и прощальный тур как идеальный способ
отпраздновать нашу невероятную карьеру вместе с фанатами. Мы
действительно с нетерпением ждем начала гастролей, чтобы в последний раз
встретиться с нашими поклонниками. На протяжении многих лет Westlife
стала для нас большим чем просто группой. Westlife являются семьей. Мы

Amazon, HMV & Play.com Say Westlife Greatest Hits Released 21st November
As you can see Amazon does not say how many disc or if it has a dvd with it but play.com says their will be 2 cd disc's and a bonus dvd, and hmv says their is only 1 cd disc and 1 bonus dvd.

they all say it will be released on the 21st november 2011, but this has NOT been confirmed by westlife.

By Melanie Finn, Showbusiness Editor Westlife’s Nicky Byrne Westlife’s Nicky Byrne has said he doesn’t believe The X Factor will be as good without acid-tongued judge Simon Cowell. And the Herald can reveal how the band’s usual slot on the hit show now hangs in the balance since they left the music mogul’s record label, SyCo. The chart-topping singer explained how he believed the whole dynamic of the ITV programme will have changed as a result of Simon switching to X Factor USA. “I hear Gary Barlow is good but I can’t see it being as good without Simon, if I’m honest, because he and Louis had that banter, that chemistry. I know Louis likes Gary and they get on but I’m not sure if the same chemistry could be had, with anyone,” he said. Cog “It doesn’t matter who you put in that seat, it’s not Simon Cowell. It’s nothing against Gary but it’s going to be different. And then you’ve not got Cheryl or Dannii either, so it’s not like, you’re not just missing one major cog in the wheel it’s like ‘wow, the whole thing has changed’. But it could be 50 times better, who knows?” The Irish boyband has made countless key appearances on the talent contest, now in its eighth series, which has helped them launch their latest albums to TV audiences of millions. But Nicky explained how the group are no longer assured a key slot on the programme now that they have switched labels to RCA. “I will certainly watch the show but I don’t know if we’ll be on it. We would all love to, of course and with Louis there thankfully we have an ‘in’ on it,” he continued. “But they have had us on a lot over the years and you have to remember, SyCo is the company that makes the show so hopefully it wouldn’t be like that. But you never know, we might not get the show and if we don’t, we’ll just have to pick ourselves up and move on.” The popular singer has also done little to allay speculation that RTE is head-hunting him to co-present new programme The Voice of Ireland. But he said that it’s all to do with timing and his first loyalties will always lie with Westlife as the four lads gear up to embark on a short tour next month of South Africa and South East Asia. “I’m not going to lie — broadcasting is something I do enjoy,” he continued. “Nobody has offered me the job or anything like that but it’s always nice to be mentioned in a big TV show like that. I don’t know if I have the timing for something like this.” Request Once their next tour is complete, Westlife will be taking to the stage at the O2 Dublin on November 24 to play ‘O2 SmartSounds’. A live social-media gig, it will see attendees being able to request the songs they’d like to hear on the night. “We’re really looking forward to that. It’s a great concept and there’s also going to be a battle of the bands on the night,” Nicky added. eepmoat: That’s life as boys go west for a while - Review
WESTLIFE kept their fans waiting at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday night.
Rumours that only three of the band had turned up started to circulate the stadium as the show failed to start on time.
When the last of the band’s 31 UK shows did finally get under way, with Irish singer/guitarist Glen Calum providing the support, it was followed by another lengthy wait of over half an hour.
With nothing happening on the stage, apart from a brief appearance of a guitar technician, it was left to a couple of men out of the crowd to entertain the fans with their antics in front of the East Stand. Dozens later joined in a conga on the covered section of the pitch
Many fans were clearly frustrated by the delay, which was nothing to do with the stadium.

“It is getting a bit ridiculous now,” said Hull-based Jackie Gedney who, along with her group of friends, had been in the stadium since the gates opened at 5.30pm.
Westlife finally took to the stage around 9.35pm.
After two upbeat songs, Mark Feehily, the one rumoured to have been late, apologised to the crowd on behalf of the band for the delay without offering any explanation.
But he pledged: “We’ll try our very best to make it up to you in the next hour and a half.”
Most of the crowd will probably feel that they did just that with a good selection of songs and their Irish charm proving a winning combination.
Even Jackie admitted: “It was worth waiting for. They were good.”
Credit must also go to the tight four-piece backing group consisting of two guitarists, drummer and keyboard player.
Like them or loathe them, and there are a lot of people who fall into the latter category, Westlife underlined the fact that they can perform equally well live as in the studio – with the acoustics at the stadium helping in that respect.
Shane Filan and Feehily shared the lead vocals on the majority of Westlife songs - which included A World Of Our Own, Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up, What About Now (my favourite on the night) and Uptown Girl.
Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan got the chance to showcase their respective talents during a medley of songs by the likes of Rihanna and the Kaiser Chiefs.
There was also plenty of inter-action with the crowd during the evening with Byrne, in particular, wooing the fans.
Their last single, Safe, taken from their current Gravity album, was the worst-performing single of their career and just scraped into the top ten.
When Simon Cowell refused to put out a second song from the album it led to a split earlier this year.
Having heard the band perform Beautiful Tonight, many people will think Cowell got it wrong.
Many of the songs Westlife, who started life as a five-piece, have recorded over the years have been covers.
But the band had far more input on Gravity, with four of the 12 songs having been co-written.
The band have a second greatest hits album coming out later this year and they will be back out on the road again in 2012.
Whether their tour will include a second visit to the Keepmoat Stadium remains to be seen.
Tickets proved more difficult to move than had been anticipated, even though prices were cut during the run-up to the show, and it is unlikely to have been the money-spinner stadium bosses had been hoping for.
But if they do return to the town next year, and you missed out on Saturday, then try and catch them. You might be pleasantly surprised. You will certainly know a lot of their songs

Westlife singer being lined up to host the station's new talent show
CONTENDER: Westlife’s Nicky
WESTLIFE star Nicky Byrne has emerged as the favourite to present RTE's new talent show The Voice. This will be RTE's main weapon in the autumn to combat TV3's weekend X Factor special.TV3 is planning to show the US X Factor on Friday nights and the UK version on Friday and Saturdays. RTE has previously relied on the All Ireland Talent Show (AITS) on Sunday evenings as its main variety show, it having replaced You're A Star.
However, RTE has ditched AITS and despite its Grainne Seoige host going for an audition during the week for The Voice, we hear the Galway beauty is not a shoo-in.

Westlife’s Nicky Byrne has launched a new campaign to encourage men to call 999 if they feel the symptoms of a heart attack.
The Byrne family raised almost a quarter of a million euro to fund the TV and radio commercials, following the death of the singer’s Dad, Nicky Senior, two years ago.
The Irish Heart Foundation campaign warns men not “die of embarrassment” and ignore the warning signs.
Speaking to 98FM News, Nicky Byrne explained how his 60-year-old Dad delayed seeking medical help:

“The thing about Dad was he was very proud of never being sick in his life, he used to tell us that he never cancelled a gig for a sore throat. I thought he was invincible as well and I think he had us all convinced that he was invincible and he’d live forever. When you see how things are now with modern medicine people live a lot longer and he should have and could have.”

The Irish crooners, who parted ways with Simon Cowell’s record company earlier this year, moved to RCA after they clashed creatively with Cowell.
Speaking to The Star, Byrne said that there is not a new Westlife album in the works right now.
“Right now no.” he said. “Right now we are just looking forward to the Greatest Hits.
“We are out of contract at the moment which is a great position to be in because if this album does well we’re looking to the future, like a footballer you are free to talk to anybody.
“At the moment I would guess Greatest Hits tour and then we might not come back with an album in the next year because it might feel too soon.
“I would say we’d probably look at what’s on the table and then maybe discuss with a few other people, labels and see what’s there and move forward.”
However the Westlife star admitted that there is no hard feelings between the band and their former mentor Cowell.
“I texted him when the amicable departure happened and I said Simon I just want to thank you for the 13 years and I owe you an awful lot. Straight away he replied and said ‘listen we’re always here for you guys’.”
