What do you suggest, O Muslims!
For I do not recognize myself:
I am neither Christian, nor Jew, nor Zoroastrian, nor Muslim
I'm neither of the East nor of the West
I'm neither of the Sea nor of the Land
My place is the Place-less, my trace is the Trace-less
I'm neither body nor the soul,
Since I belong to the Soul of the Beloved
I have put duality aside,
I have found the two Worlds to be One:
One I seek, One I know, One I see, One I invoke.

I tried to find Love on the Christian Cross,
but love was not there;
I went to the Kaaba in Mecca,
but love was not there either.
I went to to the old Synagogue
and the Temple of the Hindus,
but I could not find a trace of love anywhere.
I questioned the scholars and philosophers
but love was beyond their understanding!
I then looked into my heart and
it was there where love dwelled that I saw Love;
Love was no where else to be found.

То, что желанно каждому из вас!..»
…Тогда бы вмиг закончилась война:
Слова различны – суть у них одна,
Но может только истинный мудрец
Нелепым спорам положить конец!
